Support Title
Istituto Bruno Leoni is the Italian free-market think tank. Its mission is to spread the ideas of the free market, and to promote a more knowledgeable and informed public debate.

IBL is supported by private grants, donations, and the sponsorship of its production (studies, events). IBL is proudly unassociated to and independent from any political party.

Istituto Bruno Leoni is governed by a Board of Trustees that creates strategies and supports the operation of the Institute. The President of IBL is Franco Debenedetti, entrepreneur, author and former Senator.

The members of the Executive Team animate the daily life of IBL. The team is made up of a group of young and dynamic intellectuals who add to their desire for achievement a passionate drive for research and individual liberty, as well as a concern for the destiny of the economy in Italy and globally. IBL is a young think tank in the true meaning of the word. Sixty percent of its participants are under 40 years old.

The Institute aims to inform and shape the opinion of young students and scholars, by means of dedicated seminars and lectures courses in selected high schools; the media, through an intense diffusion and promotion effort of its analyses and papers; the public opinion, with the help of a large number of studies and papers freely available to the public on the web.

Established in December 2003, IBL is today:

    • more than 16,000 online content pages;

    • 155 Briefing Papers (in-depth reports on public policy issues);

    • 104 Occasional Papers (theoretical essays by classical or contemporary authors);

    • 63 other Papers (Special Reports, Policy Papers, Position Papers etc.);

    • 260 IBL Focus (short briefs on policy-related issues);

    • publishes through IBL Libri, its publishing arm, a low-cost series of classics of liberal thought in eBook format.
